Description/nature of service:

In our daytime programming (8am-8pm) the music played will mostly be pop, rock, or indie music. Night-time programming (8pm-11pm) will often see rap and its variants played alongside the aforementioned genres.

Whether or not we will be broadcasting religion-based programming will depend on show applications. If a member of the station wishes to broadcast a programme that is religious in nature, they will be asked to revise Section Four of the OFCOM Broadcast Code (OBC) before they are permitted to broadcast.
All News bulletins are to be performed in line with Section Five of the OBC to enforce impartiality.
All politics-based programmes are under strict instructions to completely avoid the promotion of political individuals or groups, especially at the time of elections or referenda – keeping in line with Section Six of the OBC.

Our overnight sustaining service, SUE, is produced and maintained by the licence holder. SUE will broadcast during hours in which the SU is closed, which will be from 11pm-8am on weekdays and Saturdays, and for the entirety of Sundays. While we acknowledge that section 4.3 of the Notes of Guidance warns against using a sustaining service for longer than 10 hours at a time, there is no other option but to use our sustaining service on Sundays. We are often able to fill most of the Sunday broadcast with pre-recorded content, however.

Our focus as a student radio station will mean students themselves creating student-focused content, that will be marketed directly to the campus community.
